The Awards are designed to celebrate the vast achievement in Diversity and Inclusion and raise a glass to everyone for the part they play. It's really important to recognise the achievements of businesses that are doing great things in Diversity and Inclusion in smaller hubs outside of London alongside celebrating the achievements of unsung heroes. The awards also seek to acknowledge individuals & organisations that make the workplace a happy and safe environment.
Following the conference, an awards dinner will take place celebrating everyone’s achievement in diversity and inclusion.
The award categories are as follows:
Organisational Champion Award
Someone who has demonstrated a commitment to D, E & I which has resulted in improvements across all levels of their organisation or business community.
Employee Resource Group
An ERG that created a positive impact in the last three years, on the organisation and senior Stakeholder engagement.
Apprenticeship
An apprenticeship scheme that has a focus on candidates from one or more contextual minority groups (eg. ethnicity, disability, gender, LGBTQI+, socio-economic background etc.)
Changemaker
A project or initiative an organisation or individual has undertaken to become a more inclusive organisation and doing something different within their industry that makes them stand out from their competitors.
Icon/Lifetime achievement
Someone who has dedicated their career to D, E & I and the impact they have had on a community or organisation or D, E & I segment /area.
Tomorrow’s leader/youth
A young person (aged 18-30) who has worked on a project within the past 3 years, to help improve D, E & I initiative and who shows leadership qualities to lead on potential DE & I integration for the future.
Education
An organisation, educational establishment, or qualification provider that is challenging the existing status quo, to decolonise the curriculum and making study more inclusive for a diverse student body.
Women Empowerment
An initiative led by women (incl. Transwomen) that empowers women to achieve their highest potential.
D, E & I Company
The D, E & I Company Award that identifies an organisation that embraces consciously inclusive policies, processes and practices which create a culture of inclusion and belonging. This may include the local socioeconomic factors of their local community, and initiatives they have undertaken to encourage and support those individuals in their career progression.
Training & Development
An organisation or individual Consultant that can demonstrate a clear path of leadership training, whether through courses, training or educational programmes or sponsorship, in order to improve the performance of managers and leaders within an organisation, specifically targeting employees from contextual minority groups (eg. LGBTQI+, socio-economic background, gender, ethnicity, disability etc).
Recruitment policy and implementation
Recognition of a recruitment team who has been effective in providing an inclusive application process as well an inclusive selection process and diverse interview panel. Plus, an effective on-boarding plan or approach which puts DE & I at the heart of this.
Community upliftment / Community engagement
Community organisation or NFP that can demonstrate a project which has had a positive impact on the local community, especially targeting a contextual minority group (eg. LGBTQI+, socio-economic background, ethnicity, race, gender etc).
